The Sockers Youth Foundation was founded in 1998 by Mary Mageee, Michael Magee and Don Pydo in partnership with coaches David Richardson and Nilton “Batata” da Silva.
The Foundation was established in response to increasing costs associated with competitive youth soccer participation. Recognizing the developmental value of structured sport, the founders sought to ensure that access would not be limited by family income.
Over two decades, the Foundation has maintained a commitment to responsible stewardship, program sustainability, and measurable community impact.
The mission of the Sockers Youth Foundation is to expand equitable access to competitive and developmental soccer programs by providing financial assistance, educational support, and community-based outreach initiatives.
